story

Am I still a doctor?
When she wakes up in the morning, her memory of the previous day has been reset, and all she can rely on is her diary. Will Miyabi Kawauchi (Hana Sugisaki), a brain surgeon with memory loss, be able to face her patients again as a doctor?

Miyabi Kawauchi (Hana Sugisaki), a brain surgeon who suffered brain damage in an accident a year and a half ago, has lost all of her memories from the past two years, and any new memories she has are only for one day. She has a memory disorder in which she wakes up with no memory of the previous day. She starts her day by waking up at 5am every morning to read the diary on her desk and re-learn her lost memories. She is currently receiving treatment from Koichi Osako (Arata Iura), a professor in the neurosurgery department at Kanto Medical University Hospital, and working at the Hills Central Hospital where she did her training before losing her memory, but she does not perform any medical procedures and works as a nursing assistant.

One day, a brain surgeon, Sanpei Yuji (Wakaba Ryuya), who has just returned from the United States, takes up his post at the hospital. As Miyabi is showing him around the hospital, an emergency patient is brought in. The patient is actress Akamine Rena, who is diagnosed with a cerebral infarction after an examination. With the consent of her husband and manager, Emoto Hiroshi, treatment is started immediately, and Sanpei tells Miyabi to help out, but the head nurse, Tsubata Reiko (Kichise Michiko), stops him. After the treatment, Sanpei is informed by the head of the emergency department, Hoshimae Kota (Chiba Yudai), that Miyabi has memory problems.

After receiving treatment, Rena wakes up, but is barely able to speak and is diagnosed with aphasia due to aftereffects. Miyabi is conflicted about her inability to do anything while witnessing her hopeless situation as an actress.
After learning about Miyabi's memory disorder, Sanpei tells her, "We're short-staffed, so I need you to do what you can," and goes to the hospital director, Todo Toshiyuki (Yasui Junpei), to allow Miyabi to examine and diagnose patients as a doctor.
